Conflicts Attorney
Partnership Employment is a mid-size law firm in Los Angeles seeking a Conflicts Attorney to join their team. The role involves assessing potential conflicts for new engagements, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting risk management efforts.
Responsibilities
Conduct assessments of potential conflicts for new engagements, collaborating with senior stakeholders and risk teams to resolve legal and commercial concerns
Support the Risk & Compliance leadership in drafting procedures, documentation, and guidelines related to client onboarding and risk management
Oversee accurate setup and modification of client and matter records, coordinating with internal departments such as Finance, Information Governance, and Compliance across global offices when needed
Prepare and update essential documentation, including client engagement terms and conflict waivers
Recommend enhancements to the frameworks used for identifying and evaluating potential conflicts of interest
Ensure team output is consistent, accurate, and aligned with quality and efficiency expectations
Supervise the creation and ongoing management of information controls, such as restricted access groups and ethical walls
Confirm that client due diligence checks are completed in accordance with applicable policies, and ensure compliance requirements are tracked and satisfied
Deliver training to internal stakeholders on ethics, conflict management, and other compliance topics as required
Act as a point of escalation for complex issues identified by the intake and conflicts team, offering guidance or facilitating resolution
