Responsibilities

Design and build scalable mobile platform infrastructure supporting high-availability applications
Create foundational frameworks that enable efficient development across 20-25 engineering teams
Optimize performance for diverse device types, including low-end Android devices
Architect solutions for large-scale consumer mobile applications serving various industries
Lead technical initiatives to reduce complexity and improve developer productivity
Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Qualification

Required

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of mobile development related experience
Extensive experience with large-scale consumer mobile applications
Proven track record building platform-level mobile infrastructure and frameworks serving millions of customers daily
Strong expertise in mobile performance optimization and scalability
Experience supporting multiple engineering teams through platform solutions
Deep understanding of mobile architecture patterns and best practices

Preferred

React Native experience (our apps are primarily React Native-based)
Experience with cross-platform mobile development
A blend of experience from both fast-paced startup/entrepreneurial environments and large-scale big tech companies
A track record of technical leadership in fast-growing companies
