Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN) or II (RN) - AON Saturday 7:00pm - 7:30a
WellPower is dedicated to providing support for individuals with severe mental illnesses and is committed to diversity and equity in the workplace. The Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN) or II (RN) will provide direct nursing services, conduct mental health assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Mental Health Care
Responsibilities
Provide psychological evaluations/problem identification, and crisis interventions
Provide medical case management as needed
Assist consumers with psychological, social development and rehabilitation
Coordinate medical care and intervention with staff and psychiatrist
Draw blood for lab work for consumers
Monitor consumers’ vital signs
Administer intramuscular medications
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with WellPower standards
Participate in team meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required
Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing
Perform other duties as assigned
Conduct basic health assessments and monitor vital signs
Administer medications, including intramuscular injections
Draw blood and assist with lab coordination
Collaborate with psychiatrists and clinical staff to support medical and psychiatric care
Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate intervention
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records
Support client engagement in care coordination and referrals to internal or external resources
Attend team meetings, trainings, and supervision as needed
Foster a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented environment
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduation from accredited school of nursing
Licensed as a Practical Nurse in good standing with the Board of Nursing of the State of Colorado
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado. License must be in good standing
Minimum two years nursing experience; experience in a behavioral health or outpatient clinic preferred
Experience with the severe and persistently mentally ill or similar populations strongly preferred
1-3 years of experience working with consumers with a serious and persistent mental illness preferred
Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices
Theoretical and working knowledge of psychotropic medications
Working knowledge of laboratory test results
Ability to assess crises situations and intervene appropriately
Familiarity with DSM IV and diagnostic techniques
Effective written and verbal communications skills
General knowledge of computer technology
Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness
Tuberculosis (TB) screening, testing - TB screening and testing, is required and must be completed prior to hire
Preferred
Experience in a behavioral health or outpatient clinic preferred
Experience with the severe and persistently mentally ill or similar populations strongly preferred
1-3 years of experience working with consumers with a serious and persistent mental illness preferred
