Responsibilities
Assists the Benefits Manager in developing, training, organizing and tracking the workflow and processes for the Benefits Team to ensure effective and accurate benefits communication and administration
Provides and models internal customer service skills to Benefits Team, HR Business Partners and employees. Acts as a subject matter expert, responding to unresolved and escalated employee questions/issues
Provides appropriate administrative support including supply ordering, mail distribution, check deposits and assistance to Benefits Manager and Team when necessary
Process monthly billing payments to health and welfare vendors. Email check requests to AP, save in files and log in spread sheet
Complete the child support notice requests from HFS-Healthcare and family Services and email back for processing
Fulfill file requests from HR or Legal Department using OnBase system
Coordinates with Benefit Focus website updates and collateral material requests. Ensures appropriate website updates including Open Enrollment are maintained and accurate
Maintains and updates Benefits section of Rush's internal website
Participates with appropriate discussion regarding file feeds or benefits projects with the Manager, HR Technology and support staff
Provide assistance for Leave of Absence and Severance COBRA processing
Supports the Benefits Manager and team with developing, coordinating, scheduling and facilitating events as needed
Provide assistance to employees with Student Loans who request a Loan Forgiveness or Perkins Loan Form completed by HR. Obtain information from LINK LTM and OnBase. Employment dates, Title, and Status needs to be verified and stamped with HR Seal. Forms are emailed back to employee to finish the process
Works with the Sr. Benefits Analyst regarding COBRA, Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care and Transportation Management with our external vendor
Assists and participates with revising appropriate benefit policies or benefit policy management
Assists with collecting and providing internal and external annual audit requests
Manages on-going benefits projects and spreadsheets as assigned, continuously reviews, identifies and implements process improvements
Complete Medicare Forms for employees with information from LINK LTM and OnBase
Participates in appropriate benefit and wellness surveys
Maintains annual calendar of mandated legal filings due dates
Provides benefit support for the FMLA Leave Administrator, as needed
Provides benefits administration support, as needed, to the Benefits Manager with executive management benefit programs
Performs related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Three years of related work experience or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience where the required knowledge, skills and abilities have been acquired
Experience in benefits or financial analysis and administration
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required to assess and resolve issues around scheduling, projects and/or daily responsibilities
Strong evidence-based analytical approach to problem solving with equally strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel skills
Excellent interpersonal skills are required to interact with and influence a wide range of internal and external constituencies
Excellent independent judgment and the ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality
Highly organized to effectively plan, track, evaluate and follow-up on multiple priorities for multiple people
Ability to exhibit a sense of urgency around customer service to model behavior for others
Ability and willingness to approach tasks with a spirit of collaboration and high degree of initiative in order to problem solve with peers and customers
Must be approachable, dependable and a self-starter. Possesses and demonstrates the ability to quickly grasp the essence of an issue or problem and a curiosity to uncover facts as well as the follow through to build/recommend solutions
Desire and ability to either build a long-lasting solution or to provide a quick fix, and the judgment and expertise to distinguish which is appropriate in the given circumstance
