Responsibilities
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate engineering staff; coordinate daily activities and assign tasks to ensure proper workflow and cross-training
Develop, manage, and monitor operational and capital budgets; forecast costs and analyze operational performance to identify areas for improvement and cost savings
Coordinate and manage engineering projects from planning through completion, including developing project plans, managing timelines, and mitigating risks
Contribute to the development and implementation of the annual business plan, aligning engineering activities with the company's strategic objectives
Provide technical expertise to resolve issues, recommend improvements to systems and processes, and implement new technologies
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering discipline
At least 5 years of experience in engineering management, preferably in the aerospace and/or maritime industries
Proficiency in understanding technical operations, facilities, and maintenance programs
Strong ability to manage projects, develop plans, allocate resources, and oversee execution to meet deadlines
Ability to lead and motivate teams, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and influence others to achieve agreements
Strong analytical abilities for problem-solving, identifying operational trends, and implementing corrective actions
Experience with budgeting, cost forecasting, utilization, and financial analysis to manage expenses
Must be able to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred
10 years' demonstrated experience as a Chief Engineer
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering complex DOD systems of systems to the military including: Requirements Development, Design, Verification, Low Rate Initial Production, Production, Sustainment
Active DOD Secret or higher level Security Clearance
