Responsibilities

Carrying out independent research

Working closely with Dr. Kazuhiro Kurokawa and his team at Discoveries in Sight Research Laboratories

Addressing key scientific questions requiring accurate and precise measurements

Leveraging the full potential of adaptive optics optical coherence tomography (AO-OCT) and fluorescence scanning laser ophthalmoscope (AO-fSLO) to study glaucoma and other neurodegenerative diseases

Qualification

Required

MD or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline

Documentation of completion of all course work, research, and thesis preparation and acceptance necessary to receive their degree

Relevant background in the fields of biomedical engineering, ophthalmic imaging, vision science, and ophthalmology

Strong engineering background, especially in the field of computer science and optics

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Self-motivated and detail-oriented

Eager to learn basic, translational, and clinical research as well as new imaging technologies
