Providing easy-to-understand weather updates to help the audience stay safe and informed

Creating compelling, timely, and accurate content to connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms

Combining data and science with the power of storytelling

Creatively telling weather stories across platforms including TV, connected television, and digital

Required

Experience: Experience forecasting and presenting weathercasts - 2+ years, working knowledge of TV weather graphics systems

Education: Bachelor's degree in Meteorology

Technical Skills: Knowledge of synoptic meteorology, tropical and radar

Skills: Ability to anticipate situations, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities

Abilities: Demonstrate enthusiasm in dealing with breaking news

Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community

Schedule: Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts due to 'breaking news' and severe weather emergencies. Willing and able to work weekends and holidays

Preferred

National Weather Association (NWA) and/or the AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) seal

Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems

May be required to lift up to five pounds
