Actuarial Analyst

Responsibilities

Support the actuarial function to achieve business objectives and performance goals
Partner with portfolio managers to evaluate and manage financial results across Orion180’s product portfolio
Perform quarterly and ad-hoc reserve studies, including monthly tracking of reserve and claim development
Collaborate with the Claims department to understand reserving and settlement practices and their impact on loss reserves and IBNR
Communicate complex actuarial analyses and findings to non-technical stakeholders, including executives and other internal teams
Assisting the development of pricing models, reserving methodologies, and analytical reports that drive data-driven decisions
Support regulatory filings, reinsurance presentations, and audit documentation as needed

Required

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field required
Minimum 1 year of actuarial work experience in Property & Casualty insurance required; reserving experience strongly preferred
Strong Excel skills required
Experience communicating technical analyses to non-technical audiences both verbally and in writing
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to make data-driven decisions with limited historical data
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with a proven ability to handle multiple priorities
Collaborative and curious, eager to learn across actuarial, data science, and product functions

Preferred

Reserving experience strongly preferred
Proficiency with SQL; familiarity with R or Python is a plus
