Director, Trade Account

The Director, Trade Account will be responsible for managing distribution accounts and executing service agreements, playing a key role in the sale and distribution of Supernus’ products and new product launches.

Responsibilities

Leads all activities related to the engagement and account management of assigned accounts, i.e., specialty pharmacies and specialty distributors
Negotiates, implements, and manages Specialty Pharmacy Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Enhanced Service Agreements (ESA) with Trade accounts
Collaborates with patient services team to provide solutions related to Rx processing at the pharmacy level
Develops long term strategic business relationships with key decision makers within U.S. Specialty Trade & Distribution accounts and healthcare distribution industry
Ensures comprehensive knowledge of Supernus MSA/DSA’s contractual components and manages KPI goals
Coordinates new product launches to ensure launch preparedness within assigned accounts
Leads account training initiatives as applicable to compliantly educate appropriate account work team(s)
Strategically deploys resources to support discussion and inquiries related to products, stocking, and availability
Ensures on time and complete delivery of specialty channel data for established SP data sets based on specialty pharmacy format
Leads the resolution of all data and reporting issues within the channel in timely fashion, i.e., purchasing trends, class of trade integrity, and days of inventory on hand
Analyzes trade channel data/reports to support appropriate product supply and monitors inventory reports to leverage custom data offerings to identify customer purchase patterns and channel trends
Collate functional partner inputs and drives partnerships leveraging Supernus resources, sharing initiatives and relevant business objectives
Provide market updates to commercial leadership and communicates account performance broadly with key internal stakeholders
Identifies new strategic opportunities and leads related efforts to partner across channels
Works collaboratively to educate and inform partners on distribution practice, purchase insights, and 340B program eligibility
Partners with Trade and Distribution team and functional business partners to develop distribution strategy for future pipelines in new therapeutic areas
Other responsibilities and projects assigned

Required

A minimum of ten years of related experience in managing national or regional pharmacy distribution accounts and a bachelor's degree required
Previous Pharmaceutical/Specialty/Biotech industry commercial experience working with specialty pharmacy, specialty distributors, or similar trade partners a plus
Experience with any combination of prominent Trade Accounts in the rare and orphan, general medication and specialty spaces preferred
Relevant experience with distribution networks, new product launches, trade processes, and understanding of pharmaceutical supply chain
A working understanding of compliance with FDA regulations governing pharmaceutical marketing and the PhRMA code for HCP interactions
Strong understanding, current working knowledge of medical and pharmacy benefit dollar flows, healthcare policy topics
Experience driving complex contract negotiations with proven track record of success
Understanding of the pharmacy reimbursement environment
Excellent analytical skills with solid understanding of Trade channel data
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Proactive communication, attention to detail, and self-motivated
Highly organized with strong project management skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and maintain high ethical standards of integrity and quality
Ability to have an innovative and dynamic approach to work

Authorized to legally work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Driving and Travel: must be able to drive an automobile and hold a valid U.S. Driver's License and be able to travel up to 50% of the time

Preferred

A master's in business administration is preferred
Experience with any combination of prominent Trade Accounts in the rare and orphan, general medication and specialty spaces preferred
