Job Cost Bookkeeper/Accountant

Boarhog LLC is a respected Service-Disabled Veteran Owned small business seeking a diligent Full Cycle Job Cost Bookkeeper/Accountant who can work remotely or in their San Diego office. The role involves managing accounts receivable, payroll, invoicing, and reconciliations while ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and government regulations.

Responsibilities

Creating and distributing invoices to customers and tracking their status
Recording payments received from customers and applying them to the appropriate invoices
Reconciling A/R records with bank statements and other financial data
Analyzing A/R data to track and identify outstanding invoices and assess the risk of non-payment
Following up with customers on overdue invoices and implementing collection procedures
Managing Boarhog’s Quickbooks, performing data entry of banking transactions, accounts payable, credit card transactions, syncing timecards through HTS into Quickbooks and verifying accuracy of timecards with Management, and completing reconciliations
Setting up new employees and updating current employees in T-Sheets for job codes and payroll; working closely with Office Admin to verify employee information needed in accounting system and timekeeping system
Meticulously preparing invoices for various contracts and submitting to customers in a timely manner, then tracking accounts receivable and producing an accurate and complete aging report
Processing payroll and reconciling to timecards and books with proper job costing of labor and expenses
Reviewing expense reports submitted for per diem and math; verifying employee time to corresponding travel
Assisting with spend plans and monthly status reports with financial inputs to customers and reconciling to billing
Processing payroll twice a month by importing timesheet information into Quickbooks
Timely identification and resolution of timesheet discrepancies, then collaborating with the Director of Operations to address unresolved discrepancies toward ensuring accuracy and completeness
Proactively adding and removing associates in the timesheet system to include assigning the appropriate charge codes
Tracking and maintaining accurate and complete PTO balances
Processing expense reports, verifying per diems and reviewing for accuracy
Assuring the Director of Operations that Boarhog associates working direct on contracts are charging time correctly
Processing 401k retirement system actions by payroll date
Monitoring contract performance, tracking deliverables (e.g. spend plans, MSRs), and preparing reports on contract status
Maintaining accurate contract records and documentation in accordance with company policies and government regulations

Minimum five years of professional bookkeeping/accounting experience
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, especially Teams and SharePoint, but also Outlook, Word and Excel

Preferred

BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus, or equivalent experience in the workplace is acceptable
Knowledge and experience with federal government contracts, the FAR, government accounting and job costing
Experience with both CPFF and T&M accounting
