Responsibilities

Define and own the strategic vision and roadmap for U.S. educational content aligned with business goals
Establish a framework to prioritize user needs and translate insights into actionable initiatives
Create and execute a content strategy and roadmap that drives acquisition (high-demand content) and retention (consistent, value-focused coverage)
Ensure content and curriculum resources are rigorously aligned with key national and state standards, including Common Core, NGSS, and others and oversee content mapping and curriculum review cycles
Establish and execute a research agenda that validates content efficacy against evidence-based instructional practices, including alignment to ESSA evidence tiers
Deepen expectations around content development that reflects best practices for diverse learners, including a deep understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accommodations for IEP/504s, English Language Learners (WIDA frameworks), and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS/RTI)
Design the content strategy to explicitly support educator Professional Development (PD) and instructional coaching, ensuring resources are embedded for successful in-classroom implementation
Where appropriate, investigate opportunities to tie supplemental content lines to core curriculum schemes
Drive financial performance by making strategic content decisions that balance educational impact with business outcomes
Establish the editorial standards that will drive relevance, trust, and authority
Audit and analyze content to identify gaps, measure effectiveness, and improve engagement
Establish measurement and feedback loops with educators and users to refine content and enhance adoption/retention
Lead and mentor content strategists, curriculum developers, and editors
Build and maintain a network of teacher advisors and subject matter experts to validate classroom and home effectiveness
Work closely with Production, Marketing, Product, and Partnerships teams to maximize content impact and ensure users see the right content at the right time with the right message
Monitor competitor developments, market trends, and educator priorities to inform strategy
Leverage emerging technologies (e.g., AI, adaptive learning) and pedagogical approaches to accelerate content development and support diverse learners across mainstream, homeschool, and special education contexts
Integrate knowledge of federal funding streams (e.g., Title I, IDEA) to design content solutions that meet procurement needs, and proactively partner with the Partnerships team to support RFP navigation and compliance for district sales

Required

Bachelor's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field
Former educator with deep knowledge of the U.S. K-12 curriculum
7–10 years in content strategy, curriculum design, or educational product development, with a track record of translating educational expertise into actionable business or product outcomes
Strong analytical and commercial skills, able to evaluate content performance, interpret data, and inform strategy
Demonstrated assessment literacy, including experience with designing formative/summative assessments and aligning content to state accountability measures
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders while remaining hands-on

Preferred

Master's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field
School leadership experience and familiarity with homeschool and special education
Prior experience in a district-level leadership role, such as Chief Academic Officer, Curriculum Director, or Assistant Superintendent
