The Lead Avionics Engineer will work closely with the founders and technical team to develop critical technology for the product fleet, leading all aspects of electrical design, testing, qualification, and integration for the vehicles.

Responsibilities
Lead avionics development from conception to flight-ready systems and their integration
Own avionics design & interfacing, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, and critical system-level trades
Prototype, design, bring-up, and validate flight computers, power systems, comms, and electronics
Validate system reliability via root cause and corrective action investigation, debugging, documentation, etc
Hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing and validation; testbed development and operation
Lead all work to ensure compliance with relevant government and/or safety requirements
Qualification
Required
BS in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or similar degree
5+ years of experience in development of space electronics/avionic systems
Prior experience architecting and qualifying avionic systems for spaceflight
Comfortability and familiarity with relevant government/MIL-spec standards
Hands-on circuit design experience and electronics test equipment experience
Prior experience with Altium Designer or an alternative
Experience troubleshooting electronics problems at the board level or system level
Experience in a fast-paced startup environment or similar
Strong engineering background and first-principles approach to problem solving even with incomplete or partial information
US person status (including US citizens, U.S. permanent residents, individuals granted U.S. asylum status, or individuals admitted in U.S. refugee status)
