Vascular Technologist PRN

Responsibilities
Identify upper/lower extremity venous anatomy
Identify collateral venous pathways in presence of disease
Perform upper/lower extremity Venous Duplex protocol for DVT
Identify extra cranial and intracranial anatomy
Perform Carotid Duplex exam protocol
Identify upper/lower extremity arterial anatomy
Perform protocol for upper/lower extremity arterial flow exam
Operate the complex measurement and Doppler programs
Consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric
Complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organize and prioritize workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands
Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute & challenging patients; possess skill to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed
Assist physicians performing invasive exams
Perform procedures in OR
Complete required documentation on forms, logs and in computer
Follow Patient Care and Safety Policies and Procedures
Take call on a rotating basis. Arrives at HHA within 45 minutes of receipt of call
Adhere to HCA/St. David's HealthCare's Patient's First Initiatives up to and including Initial and Annual Code of Conduct, Mandatory Education, and Values Commitment/ICARE Standards
Qualification
Required
Associate Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound
Certificate of successful completion from an accredited school of vascular ultrasound
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Preferred
One year of previous experience in Vascular Ultrasound
