Associate Staff Scientist - Ultrafast Structural Dynamics
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking an Associate Staff Scientist to join the Material Science group within the Science, Research and Development Division. The role focuses on developing ultrafast science capabilities and supporting user operations at the LCLS instruments, while engaging in independent research and collaboration with other scientists.

Responsibilities
Develop the ultrafast science program at the LCLS MeV UED facility
Support MeV UED, XPP and XCS user operations
Develop new techniques and operation procedures to improve and support ultrafast program at LCLS
Support expansion of the capabilities of LCLS
Collaborate with other SRD scientists and other Divisions within LCLS
Qualification
Required
A Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, applied physics, or related fields and minimum 0.-2 years of experience and Ph.D. level expertise in ultrafast science, structure dynamics or electron or X-ray diffraction
Effective communication and writing skills to prepare and present technical and scientific documentation
Demonstrated record of scientific productivity through publications
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse population
Demonstrated ability to carry out independent research and be able to collaborate in a team environment
