Responsibilities

Advise clients on a wide range of construction law matters, including contract negotiation, project management, and regulatory compliance
Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and other legal documents
Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on risk management and dispute avoidance
Manage and direct outside counsel representing Beta in construction-related disputes, including litigation, arbitration and mediation
Stay current with industry developments and legal trends to provide informed and effective advice
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business goals and providing tailored legal solutions

Required

Five or more years relevant legal experience in one or more of the following areas: Construction/EPC, Project finance, Complex commercial contracts
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to advocate effectively for the organization's interests while preserving business relationships
Ability to reduce complex legal issues into manageable concepts for practical business assessments
Ability to work independently and proactively, manage competing priorities and deadlines, exercise sound judgment, think creatively, and take ownership of issues and matters through their successful conclusion
Strong interpersonal skills, including a good sense of humor, patience and an ability to maintain an even keel
Share the company's purpose and values, including high ethical standards, teamwork, customer service mindset, and positive attitude
JD degree from ABA accredited law school
Admission to Louisiana bar or ability to become admitted within six months of hire date (In-House Counsel admission acceptable)
