Head of Finance
Upbound is pioneering infrastructure platforms for the Agentic AI Era, serving Fortune 500 companies and platform engineers across more than 100 countries. They are seeking a Head of Finance, Accounting, and Business Operations to guide the company through its next chapter of growth, responsible for leading financial strategy and ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage the company’s financial health and oversee core business operations.

Responsibilities
Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to provide clear, data-driven insights into company performance, risks, and opportunities
Lead financial planning and reporting for board meetings, fundraising processes, and investor updates
Contribute to long-term strategic planning and resource allocation decisions
Build and scale the FP&A function to deliver robust forecasts, budgets, and scenario modeling
Design and operationalize financial models that support consumption-based and hybrid pricing structures
Develop and maintain automated dashboards and BI systems to connect operational metrics to financial outcomes
Partner with Product and GTM leadership to model usage, margins, and unit economics in real time
Implement modern FP&A and finance systems (e.g., Mosaic / HiBob, Cube, Pigment, or Anaplan) to improve accuracy and speed of reporting
Provide actionable insights that inform executive and board-level decision-making
Oversee global accounting operations, including ledgers, AR/AP, payroll, and cash management
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and international accounting standards
Lead external audits, tax preparation, and regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions
Design and implement scalable processes, systems, and controls across finance and operations
Partner with Sales, People, and other teams to operationalize revenue recognition (ASC 606), commissions, and compensation programs
Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiency, automation, and decision-making
Build a unified data layer and reporting infrastructure to enable faster, better decision-making across teams
Own company-wide OKR cadence, resource planning, and annual operating plan execution
Act as the connective tissue between functions — ensuring strategic goals translate into aligned budgets, systems, and measurable outcomes
Qualification
Required
8+ years of progressive finance and operations experience, with 3+ years in senior leadership roles
4 years of experience in enterprise software, cloud, or infrastructure companies
Proven track record scaling finance, accounting, and business operations functions through Series C or later in venture-backed startups
Experience building financial models and systems for usage- or consumption-based SaaS businesses
Strong understanding of how to apply AI in a finance and operations context, including tools for forecasting, automation, analysis, and decision support
Strong foundation in US GAAP and compliance; Big 4 public accounting background highly valued
Demonstrated success leading board and investor communications
Advanced technical and analytical skills (Excel, BI tools, SaaS financial systems)
Experience implementing or optimizing modern FP&A systems (e.g., Anaplan, Pigment, Mosaic, Cube)
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred
Preferred
Experience in remote or distributed-first organizations
Familiarity with open source, developer tooling, or cloud-native ecosystems
