Senior Test Technican
Geospace Technologies is seeking a Senior Test Technician responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing test equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Test, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineer teams to improve product yields and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
Identify and review failure trend information and support/implement solutions with the Test, Manufacturing, and/or Quality Engineer team to improve the product yield through the test process. Drive defect information to other tests and inspection points to capture earlier in the process
Actively listen and respond to the needs of internal customers, actively participate as a member of the sector team to support external customer satisfaction. Contribute to the sector team by providing technical leadership at the product level, utilizing strong communication skills to secure optimal effectiveness in all aspects of the testing area
Operate test equipment (may include flying probe, In-circuit, functional) daily. Support both preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure minimal down time of the test equipment. May also be trained to perform basic level solder repair to reduce the turnaround time of the repair
Responsible for training production associates or other test technicians on proper operation of the test equipment, including the development of training documents or assembly-specific build instruction. As required, attend training sessions at vendors or customer sites to improve expertise and train other individuals on the content learned
Use test failure reports, schematics, datasheets, and other tools to accurately troubleshoot assembly or system level failures to the component level so they can be repaired. Collaborate with Test Engineers and/or the customer to gain further knowledge of functionality when information is not available. Provide break fix support for test equipment as necessary
Basic hand repair of assemblies
Support implementation of engineering change orders
Support the development of documentation for operational or technical training
Operate test equipment (may include flying probe, In-circuit test, functional)
Support reactive maintenance (test equipment)
Train operators how to properly utilize the test equipment and instructions
Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business
Additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Three to five years of experience in a similar role in the electronic industry
Associate degree, Trade/Vocational school certificate or equivalent required
Must be eligible to work in the US permanently without sponsorship
Preferred
Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering
