Principal PCB Designer
Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Principal PCB Designer to lead advanced Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development of high-performance HDI boards, mentoring designers, and collaborating across various engineering disciplines to deliver top-notch solutions.

Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design, layout, and documentation of complex HDI PCBs, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability
Architect PCB design strategies—define stack-ups, component placement, and routing methodologies in alignment with mechanical, hardware, and signal integrity requirements
Serve as the technical expert for PCB design practices, establishing and maintaining design standards, methodologies, and best practices
Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams to solve advanced technical and design challenges
Partner with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to optimize DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Test) processes, ensuring scalability and cost efficiency
Conduct design reviews and provide technical leadership in evaluating and validating design intent, manufacturability, and reliability
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in design tools, automation, and workflow processes to enhance productivity and quality
Oversee, mentor, and provide guidance to fellow PCB designers, fostering technical growth and adherence to design excellence
Contribute strategically to product and system-level design decisions, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
8+ years of progressive experience in leading PCB design, including multi-layer boards, mixed-signal layouts, high-speed digital, RF, power, BGA's, trace length matching, differential pairs, high speed routing and impedance-controlled designs
Deep knowledge of IPC standards, advanced stackup design, impedance control and signal/power integrity best practices
Expert-level proficiency with PCB design tools preferably CADSTAR/eCADSTAR or similar, plus working knowledge of schematic capture and ECAD-MCAD collaboration
Proven experience in DFM/DFT principles, PCB fabrication processes, and emerging technologies
Demonstrated leadership in setting and enforcing design standards, guidelines, and best practices
Experience with scripting, automation, and workflow optimization within design environments
Attention to detail while creating PCB footprints in CAD libraries
Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make critical technical trade-offs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across engineering, manufacturing, and vendor partners
