Senior Factory Quality Engineer (2nd Shift)

Responsibilities

Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies
Develop strong working relationships with the touch labor, factory leadership, program leadership, and DCMA
Regular data analysis; development and usage of actional metrics. Generation and publication of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics
Facilitate and lead cross-functional team in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB)
Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary
Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, auditing processes, and assuring configuration management
Development and maintenance of inspection instructions, ensuring inspection instructions meet the technical data package requirements and meet production needs
Development and release of First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102
Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and internal stakeholders to manage issues
Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely red rack dispositions

Required

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Experience with interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, and manufacturing process experience in one of the following areas (assembly, inspection, test)
Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems
The ability to obtain and maintain an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) clearance prior to the start date
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Experience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers
Experience in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis
Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements
Experience with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
ASQ Certifications preferred
