They are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Intern to assist with the implementation and support of EH&S programs, enhance safety standards, and contribute to process improvements at a manufacturing site.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the EH&S Department and other manufacturing support teams on a daily basis
Lead and execute agreed-upon projects aimed at achieving the facility’s EH&S goals
Evaluate EH&S risks and develop recommendations or action plans to mitigate identified risks
Support the development and implementation of EH&S program and process improvements
Conduct and participate in EH&S audits to identify program gaps and evaluate risk levels
Assist with incident investigations and corrective/preventative actions as required
Gain hands-on experience with EH&S tools and systems utilized in manufacturing environments

Required

Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university
Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
Junior standing or higher is preferred
Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May-August 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity
Be willing to work at the posted job location
A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with manufacturing personnel and support staff
Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred

Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
Attention to detail and reliability in task execution
