Responsibilities
Engaged in the development of requirements and specifications for a variety of valves for various systems in nuclear power plants
Support engineering and licensing requirements, leading to the licensing and construction of the first SMR-300 plant
Qualification
Required
BS in an engineering discipline
In-depth knowledge of valve design, operation, maintenance, and testing considerations/procedures
Experience in developing and/or reviewing valve procurement specifications for nuclear power plants
Familiarity with valve maintenance impacts on power plant outages
Familiarity with ASME BPVC, valve and actuator design standards, API, MSS, and nuclear quality assurance requirements (e.g., NQA-1)
Knowledge of NRC regulations related to mechanical components in nuclear facilities
Excellent technical writing, interpersonal and effective communication skills
Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810
Preferred
Masters degree in Mechanical or other engineering discipline
Experience working with engineers and vendors/manufacturers to develop designs and drawings
Knowledge and understanding of valve diagnostics
Familiarity with different valve actuator types
Experience with design certification, construction, or operation of a nuclear power plant
Experience working in the nuclear energy field
EIT and/or PE certification
