Responsibilities

Contribute to research in strategic thrust areas such as AI-Powered Microchips and Systems, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Quantum and Nano Technologies, and Cybersecurity and Cyber Physical Systems

Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students

Collaborate with faculty across the university and engage in interdisciplinary work

Required

A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or an engineering related field

A strong record of research excellence and a record for high-impact funded research

A collaborative spirit that embraces interdisciplinary work

A willingness to expand disciplinary boundaries to address complex technical and societal grand challenges

Exceptional consideration will be given to early and mid-career candidates who lead externally funded research programs and successfully mentor doctoral students, particularly those able to leverage existing teams and projects to build collaborations at UM
