Product Designer 2
Garmin is seeking a full-time Product Designer 2 to join their Device Interaction team in Olathe, KS. The role focuses on designing experiences for the Garmin Golf App, involving all aspects of feature development from wireframing to final design, while collaborating with various departments to create user-friendly interactions.

Responsibilities
Leverage knowledge of UX/UI design tools such as Figma
Take ownership of key features in a product line
Perform user interviews and observational research
Interpret research data to create viable solutions
Define and design product interactions with stakeholders or partners
Mentor less experienced user experience designers
Demonstrate the full use of design standards and procedures in performance of essential functions
Apply Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibit a desire to see Garmin succeed
Work in cross-functional teams collaboratively and professionally with other associates to achieve our objectives and key results
Demonstrate a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion
Demonstrate the ability to produce solid design solutions without assistance from others
Use effective communication skills when presenting design ideas to various disciplines or customers
Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound design thinking
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Design, Human Factors, Visual Design or a degree with an equivalent curriculum that teaches user centered design principles AND a minimum of 1 year relevant work experience OR a minimum of 5 years equivalent combination of education and relevant experience performing the essential functions of the Garmin Product Designer role
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
2 or more years of experience designing for web, Android, and iOS
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the design process (i.e., from design hypothesis to creating user flows and wireframes to the specification and build of user interface mockups and prototypes)
A portfolio that demonstrates refined digital product design skills across multiple projects
Proficient knowledge of usability principles
Proficient abilities implementing a design thinking process
Proficient knowledge of design principles
Proficient knowledge of user interface design principles
Proficient abilities designing screens and user interface
Preferred
Passion for Garmin products
Technical knowledge that helps bridge gaps between engineering and design environments
Experience mentoring one or more UX designers
Knowledge and enthusiasm about accessible and inclusive design
