Structural Engineer (Forensic PE) - Excellent Benefits
Orion Placement is representing a well-established engineering firm specializing in forensic investigations and construction consulting. They are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer (Professional Engineer PE) to conduct forensic engineering evaluations, prepare technical reports, and provide litigation support while managing multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Perform field inspections to document existing conditions and assess structural damage
Investigate cause and origin of failures from natural disasters (hurricanes, floods, fires, earthquakes) and human-related issues (design flaws, construction errors)
Apply building codes and structural principles to develop accurate evaluations and repair recommendations
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation
Author detailed technical reports and communicate findings with clients and stakeholders
Collaborate with attorneys, code officials, contractors, and insurance professionals
Manage multiple assignments, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget
Travel occasionally on short notice for inspections
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (ABET accredited)
Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience with strong knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and building envelope systems
Active Florida PE license (NCEES record and ability to obtain multi-state licensure a plus)
In-depth knowledge of ICC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS codes
Demonstrated experience in forensic engineering, structural assessments, and construction consulting
Strong communication and technical writing skills
Valid U.S. work authorization and a clean driving record
Preferred
Litigation support/expert testimony experience is highly desirable
