Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is seeking a Field Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will work on construction sites, monitoring activities associated with building industrial facilities and resolving issues that arise during construction.

Responsibilities

Experience with heavy civil sitework, grading construction, and soil compaction

Review construction drawings and specifications, and ensure the contractor performs grading and compaction operations in conformance with the lines and grades shown on the drawings and according to the specifications

Monitor installation of stormwater system in accordance with construction drawings and specifications

Experience with installations of erosion control devices

Coordinate with contractors and home office engineers on the contractor's request for information

Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments

Qualification

Civil Engineering DegreeSite Civil Engineering ExperienceGeotechnical KnowledgeEngineer in Training CertificationRoadway / Paving DesignCommunication SkillsPresentation Skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university

Minimum 4 years of Site Civil Engineering experience

Experience with grading and Earthwork site design

Experience with Roadway / Paving design & specifications

Geotechnical knowledge (soil placement and compaction, sitework prep, roadway / heavy haul paving design)

Ability to travel and work from the construction site, per diem allowance will be provided

Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills (Verbal and Written)

Preferred

Engineer in Training Certification or Professional Engineer licensure
