Responsibilities
Help pharmacists prepare, and distribute prescribed medication and other health care products to patients and customers
Prepare dosage medications for dispensing into bottles/containers and unit dose packaging/repackaging
Count pills/tablets
Mix medications that need to be reconstituted with water
Preparation of oral syringes
Compounding sterile preparations
Filing
Inventory
Medication delivery to patient care units
Filling/replenishing automated dispensing cabinets
Collection, organization, and verification of patient information
Answering phones
Stocking shelves
Cash collection/management
Data entry
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/GED
Registered by and in good standing with Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
or licensed by and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist Intern
