Harvard Medical School is dedicated to improving health and well-being through excellence in education and research. They are seeking a Co-Director for the Harvard–MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST) to guide a unique joint program that trains the next generation of physician scientists and engineers, while also mentoring MD and PhD students.

Responsibilities

Lead curriculum design, delivery, and review for HST MD students
Recruit, support, and evaluate HST teaching faculty and teaching assistants
Oversee HMS HST faculty involved in admissions, advising, and student support
Mentor HST MD students and assess student performance, behavior, and professionalism
Collaborate with the MIT Co Director to manage faculty recruitment, program administration, and staff supervision
Serve as Advisory Dean of the Irving London Society, fostering community and supporting student well-being
Contribute to fundraising, budget development, and long-term strategic planning
Represent HST at HMS, MIT, and University wide committees and leadership meetings
Teach on an ad hoc basis within HST courses at HMS and MIT

Required

MD or MD-PhD
10+ years' administrative, managerial, and budgetary experience in complex, matrixed organizations
Qualifications for an appointment as Professor or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, commensurate with academic accomplishments
Established record as a physician-scientist, with demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentoring, and research
Proven administrative leadership experience; ability to navigate complex organizations

Preferred

Familiarity with the HST program and its mission is strongly preferred
