Vice President of Finance

Ampact is seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead the organization’s financial strategy and operations. This role involves providing strategic guidance, overseeing audits and financial policies, and managing grants-related finances while directing the finance team to support organizational goals.

Education

Responsibilities

Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team and Board of Directors to ensure long-term fiscal health and sustainability
Partner with leadership on financial goals, planning, and decision-making
Serve as a liaison to the Board of Directors and Finance/Audit Committee, preparing materials and presenting updates
Oversee audits, compliance, and implementation of financial policies and internal controls
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and management of invested assets
Direct grants management, including accounting, billing, collections, and reporting, ensuring expenditures align with budgets and regulations
Supervise daily financial operations and maintain strong relationships with external finance vendors and auditors
Lead, train, and supervise the finance team, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
Provide coaching and professional development to strengthen team capacity and performance

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field
10+ years of leadership experience in a complex non-profit with diverse funding
Experience with government contracts, private foundation grants, and individual contributions
Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis
Strong knowledge of GAAP, non-profit fund accounting, auditing, and tax management
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
