Responsibilities

Provide daily support to Rittal customers and Outside Sales Engineers regarding RAS machines and supplemental products
Deliver on-site and remote troubleshooting and support for Rittal automation systems
Be available “on call” as needed to support customer needs
Assist with integration of Rittal automation products into existing systems, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance
Perform installations and configurations of automation systems at customer sites
Diagnose system faults, perform repairs, and execute corrective actions promptly
Support implementation, installation, and repair of RAS machines
Conduct training sessions for clients and end-users on Rittal automation systems
Assist with setup and demonstration of RAS machines at trade shows and customer events
Maintain ongoing communication with Rittal Headquarters, Eckelmann, Siemens, and Kiesling in Germany regarding product quality and technical issues
Travel extensively to customer locations across North America (including Canada and Mexico) and Germany – up to 80%
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

B.S. degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent training required
Minimum 5 years of experience in Controls Engineering or CNC machines with plant floor experience
Knowledge of pneumatics, vacuum systems, AC/DC electricity, transformers, and three-phase power up to 460 volts
Working knowledge of CAD/AutoCAD for importing customer documentation into RAS software
Experience with automation systems, PLCs, and control technology
In-depth knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and DCS systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and communicate concepts visually
Basic understanding of drilling, tapping, and milling of metal parts and use of measurement instruments
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-functional team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time management abilities
Must be available to work daily/weekly overtime as needed

Preferred

Technical certification in PLC or CNC controls or computers is a plus
Familiarity with automation software such as Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000
Conversational and technical knowledge of German is a plus
