Responsibilities

Overseeing all aspects of the department’s mission and for articulating a strategic vision for the department that aligns with the college and university’s mission
Managing the day-to-day operations of the department, including resource allocation and fiscal management
Supporting faculty research and professional growth
Overseeing clinic operations and scope of services, clinical partnership, supervision and development of all faculty and staff, and review of curriculum, student recruitment and program development with a focus on student success
Leading the administrative staff and supporting faculty research and educational endeavors
Maintaining strong relations with alumni, community partners, and agencies, to be available to students, and to advance the department’s community outreach and service efforts

Required

Ph.D./Ed.D
Earned doctorate (PhD or EdD) in Communication Sciences and Disorders or closely related field
Current rank of associate or full professor with tenure or equivalent experience
Demonstrated experience in academic leadership in a CSD or closely related department
Evidence of a high-quality research program commensurate with expectations for a tenured professor at Oklahoma State University
Evidence of successful college or university-level teaching and mentorship
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, with an ability to engage effectively with faculty (research, teaching, and clinical), staff, university and college administration, students, and external stakeholders
The ability to bring together stakeholders from across the department's constituencies and foster transdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department

Preferred

Leadership or personal clinical experience in a CSD department with an on-campus clinic
Evidence of successful teaching and mentorship at undergraduate and master's levels
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: All research and teaching specializations in CSD and related fields are welcome
Evidence of success or potential to gain external funding
