They are seeking a highly motivated Senior Structural Design Engineer to join their Water Resources Structural Engineering team, where the role involves leading structural projects, providing specialized technical input, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

Responsibilities

Lead Structural Engineer on projects, may include reviewing project designs, plans and specifications

Providing specialized technical input on water-related projects

Managing structural projects, including design tasks and coordination of work with multi-disciplined engineering staff within AECOM and our joint venture partners

Experience in preparation of proposals, technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited support and inspection during construction

Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices. As necessary, modifies established guidelines, devises new approaches, applies existing criteria in new ways and draws conclusions from comparative situations

Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred

10 + years' experience in structural design

Master's degree in structural engineering

Project management skills

Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing

Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools and software)

Knowledgeable of other standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable codes, such as ACI, ASIC, ASCE, AASHTO, and various USACE Engineering Manuals

Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools including finite element analysis

A current PE license in the State of LA, TX, or others
