The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) is seeking a Dean for the School of Science and Engineering, a pivotal role in leading a dynamic and growing school at a significant moment in the university's history. The Dean will be responsible for advancing excellence in education, discovery, and innovation, while overseeing a community of over 120 faculty and 3,000 students, enhancing partnerships, and expanding research productivity.

Build philanthropic and corporate support to advance the school’s mission

Required

PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field

Demonstrated record of academic leadership and administrative experience

Experience in managing budgets and resources effectively

Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Ability to foster collaboration and partnerships with external stakeholders

Proven track record of securing external funding for research

Experience in curriculum development and program assessment

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to advocate for the School and its mission within the university and the community

Preferred

Experience in a research-intensive university setting

Experience with interdisciplinary programs and initiatives

Demonstrated success in fundraising and building philanthropic support

Experience in workforce development and community engagement
