Responsibilities

Implement engineering improvements that reduce unplanned downtime and strengthen long‑term control system reliability
Perform and lead root‑cause investigations to eliminate repeat electrical and controls issues
Independently develop, scope, justify, implement, and close out industrial electrical and controls projects that meet performance, schedule, and budget targets
Deliver complete project documentation, including engineering designs, calculations, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and commissioning plans
Manage vendor, contractor, and external engineering activities to ensure alignment with project goals
Strengthen plant electrical safety by supporting NFPA 70E compliance, executing safety initiatives, and ensuring systems meet corporate engineering standards
Ensure electrical integrations, upgrades, and automation systems meet Johns Manville specifications and regulatory requirements
Improve the functionality, responsiveness, and reliability of PLC, HMI, and networked control systems to drive measurable operational improvement
Identify performance gaps within plant automation and lead engineered solutions for sustained performance gains
Mentor technical team members, electricians, and junior engineers to elevate plant troubleshooting and automation capability
Communicate technical risks, project updates, and performance impacts clearly to plant leadership and cross‑functional partners

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
Minimum 3 years of experience in control systems engineering within a continuous and/or discrete manufacturing environment
Demonstrated capabilities with industrial electrical and control systems, including Allen‑Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial networking
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills
