Indiana University is seeking a web developer intern to assist with the migration of data from legacy applications into enterprise web solutions. The role provides practical experience in modern web development practices while contributing to high-impact university projects.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with EXDD team members on migrating data from legacy applications into enterprise web solutions

Supports the development and maintenance of APIs and web applications within the LAMP stack, primarily using Laravel

Participates in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions

Gains hands-on experience with modern web development workflows, including containerized deployments and version control

Required

Current enrolled as a student at Indiana University with an interest in web development

Foundational knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP) gained through coursework, projects, or prior experience

Basic understanding of relational databases (MySQL or similar)

Ability to manage time effectively and work independently in a remote environment

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and practices

Problem-solving and troubleshooting in a collaborative setting

Attention to detail in coding, testing, and documentation

Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills

Maintains a high degree of professionalism

Preferred

Currently enrolled in Information Technology, Informatics, or other computing/engineering field major or minor

Experience with Laravel or another PHP framework

Experience using Git for version control

Familiarity with containerized development and deployment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
