Responsibilities
Monthly indirect tax compliance
Compile sales reports in preparation of the sales/use tax filings
Reviews sales journals monthly for any discrepancies and work with the appropriate contacts to adjust accordingly
Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/use tax filings in addition to other indirect tax filings (Gross Receipts tax, Excise tax, etc.)
Handle the payment process for sales/use tax, property tax, business license and other indirect tax filings
Prepare monthly journal entries
Prepare responses to government-issued tax notices, and interface with state and local tax agencies when necessary
Effectively liaison with Procurement, Business Unit staff, IT, Legal, etc
Become a resource for sales/use tax questions
Under the direction of the Tax Manager, will prepare business licenses renewals and other various indirect tax related filings
Will work with vendors and internal purchasing teams on sales use tax matters involving the issuance of resale certificates
Research state and local tax issues related to compliance, special projects, audits, protests, etc
Assist in various administrative matters
Additional job functions may be added and/or re-assigned as workload dictates
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in large corporate finance environment including a minimum of 3 years indirect tax specific experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional preferred
Ability to consistently meet monthly business deadlines (e.g. tax filings, payments, etc.)
Eagerness to learn and willingness to ask questions
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize
