Responsibilities

Escorts patient to and from exam and imaging rooms
Prepares patients for imaging procedures to include complete screening process with patient safety in mind
Takes images following established procedures for patient care and safety to include scanning all required anatomy and correct technical factors for highest quality images
Reviews images, makes quality adjustments and makes images available to physician for review on computer system
Communicates concerns about imaging results to Radiologists so that further diagnostic decisions can be made
Prepares and administers contrast materials when indicated and instructs patients accordingly
Ensures equipment is in working order and completes/maintains maintenance records as required
Troubleshoots problems with equipment or software and contacts service providers when problems require a service call
Performs QA procedures according to instrument manufacturer’s recommendations
Accurate and timely completion of documentation to facilitate accurate billing for imaging and patient flow through clinic
Provides imaging studies for record release as requested by staff or patients and documents appropriately
Imaging rooms are cleaned and stocked with necessary supplies and communicates supply needs as needed
Seeks out assignments, added duties, or opportunities to learn when assigned work is complete, as patient census or workload permits, or to otherwise fill down time productively
Proposes new ideas, makes suggestions, and seeks opportunities to improve processes or workflow through appropriate channels
Attempts to problem solve when assigned work is disrupted, equipment is down, etc. before involving supervisor
Willingly provides coverage, volunteers assistance, and maintains workflows within department as needed without direct instruction/supervision
Works cooperatively and refrains from participating in negative conversations
Shares knowledge and insights with co-workers in a constructive manner
Works to solve problems and address conflicts with appropriate person directly before involving leadership or uninvolved peers
Is considerate of others in the work environment with regard to taking breaks or meal periods, use of computer and phone, noise level in the department, etc
Knows and complies with policies and procedures as enumerated in the Orthopedic One Employee Handbook and policies and procedures documents
Provides assistance and support to leadership in implementing policies and procedures as necessary
Actively participates in training, and conducting day to day work activity by adhering to all policies and procedures as enumerated in compliance and risk management programs

Required

Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology and MRI training program, with current State license and professional registry (ARRT) in Radiology and MRI or graduate of an accredited MRI Technologist program along with ARRT (MR) registry
Must maintain current CPR/AED certification
