The City University of New York is seeking a dynamic, open-rank professor to serve as the academic director of the Master of Public Administration program. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership, teach classes in public policy, and collaborate on strategic planning and program growth.

Responsibilities

Provide academic leadership and strategic vision for program expansion

Work collaboratively with the Program Director and integrate with broader Moynihan Center programming initiatives

Teach classes in public policy, public law, and/or American politics

Provide curricular leadership and support faculty development

Oversee admissions and engage in external relations

Collaborate closely with the Program Director and Moynihan Center leadership on strategic planning and program growth

Required

Ph.D. degree in Political Science or a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent

Must demonstrate the ability to teach successfully

Have a record of scholarship or professional achievement

The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to institutional goals

An outstanding track record of academic research and teaching experience in the field of Public Policy or Public Administration

Experience and/or demonstrable potential in leading an academic program

Preferred

Administrative experience in academic program leadership or equivalent professional experience in public service management

Demonstrated interest in fundraising and resource development
