Responsibilities
Work efficiently with cross-functional departments, peers, and team members
Provide clear instructions to crew members and ensure they are understood and followed
Exceed customer expectations through quality installations and service delivery
Perform site surveys and quality reviews of remote locations to ensure standards are met
Work with crew members to ensure construction operations meet customer and industry specifications
Use basic hand tools and equipment safely and effectively
Work safely in all environments and weather conditions
Operate a PC or similar device to access network nodes, CPE devices, and small cell network elements
Perform assigned administrative tasks accurately and promptly
Participate in the on-call rotation schedule for nights and weekend coverage
Arrive on time each day, ready to work
Operate and interpret results from fiber optic, SONET/Ethernet test equipment, including Network Tester, OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Optical Fiber Identifier, Multimeter, and DC plant tester
Operate and interpret results from RF and small cell test equipment, such as Antenna/PIM analyzer, RF power meter, Spectrum analyzer, Signal generator, and Fusion splicer
Perform analysis and troubleshooting of issues while assisting the NOC and customers
Conduct electronic testing of equipment to inspect tower operations
Respond to all network outages, impairments, and emergencies in the assigned area
Complete all required preventative maintenance inspections to Crown Castle standards
Install, turn-up, test, and provision SONET, DWDM, and Ethernet equipment in an optical fiber network according to engineered design, with minimal supervision
Perform hardware and software updates or changes to remote site equipment as necessary
Install, upgrade, and service antennas, wireless, and small cell equipment in the field
Identify problems and perform maintenance on network equipment to ensure optimal performance
Perform all activities in a manner that ensures the safety of yourself, your team, customers, and the public
Ensure safety procedures and PPE are in place and followed at all times
Instruct and follow all OSHA and Company Fall Safety procedures
Maintain compliance with all Crown Castle policies, industry specifications, and applicable regulations
Identify hazards associated with the construction and telecommunications industry
Uphold the highest level of safety, quality control, and integrity in all operations
Qualification
Required
To be 18 years of age or older
Must possess a valid driver's license
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
Minimum, 2 years of work-related experience pertaining to utility construction, telecommunications or laborer related work
Proven leadership experience to direct workflow and produce high quality results
Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities of the position
Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening
Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed
Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position
