Deputy Executive Director - PA Board of Law Examiners

PACourts is responsible for overseeing the bar admissions process in Pennsylvania, and they are seeking a Deputy Executive Director to manage the Board's administrative office and bar admissions process. This role involves supervising operations, planning bar examinations, evaluating requests, and preparing reports and budget projections while interacting with various stakeholders.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Supervise the administrative operations related to managing the Board’s administrative office and the bar admissions process
Plan and administer the bar examination
Evaluate requests for test accommodations
Evaluate character and fitness and qualifications for bar admission
Make preparations for Board meetings
Draft rule recommendations and proposed amendments
Research and analyze work methods and procedures
Prepare comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations
Prepare budget projections
Manage board staff, graders, and proctors
Interact with the Supreme Court Justices, board members, senior management of other court agencies, executive directors from other jurisdictions, the National Conference of Bar Examiners, and numerous contractors and vendors
Supervise all support functions of the office in the absence of the Executive Director

Qualification

Required

Admission to the Pennsylvania bar
Coursework or training in management, administration or related areas
Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in management/administrative work
Three or more years of experience must have involved supervision of other employees and program management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organizational ability
Interpersonal skills
Satisfactory criminal background check required
