Senior Backend Engineer (Python / Django)

They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Python expertise to design and implement large-scale zero-trust solutions, influencing architecture decisions and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities
Architect, build, and maintain robust backend systems using Python and Django
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver features from concept to production
Write high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code that aligns with industry best practices
Lead code reviews, debug complex issues, and ensure the overall reliability and performance of the platform
Mentor junior engineers and lead larger initiatives as the team scales
Stay on top of emerging technologies and bring fresh thinking to the engineering culture
Work directly with customers and stakeholders to shape product decisions and drive value
Qualification
Required
5+ years of hands-on backend development experience, including scaling complex systems in fast-growing B2B environments
Proven track record leading projects end-to-end and mentoring less experienced engineers
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field (or equivalent practical experience)
Deep expertise in Python and Django — this is essential
Strong foundational understanding of software architecture, scalability, and reliability
High energy and ownership mindset — you move quickly and take initiative to solve problems
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders
Comfort working in a distributed, remote-first environment
Preferred
Extended exposure to security-focused products or environments is a plus
Experience with modern infrastructure tools such as GraphQL, GCP, Kubernetes, and Terraform is strongly preferred
