Special Educator EI/SEIS- Northern Nassau County, NY
Family of Kidz is dedicated to supporting children with special needs from birth to adulthood. They are seeking a Special Educator to work with students in Early Intervention or Preschool Programs, providing individualized lessons and developing creative, multi-sensory lessons based on specific goals.

Responsibilities
Work with students who are in Early Intervention or Preschool Program providing individualized lessons which target goals from the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) / Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)
Develop creative and multi-sensory lessons based on the IFSP/IEP goals and report progress toward these goals
Collect meaningful information on IEP /IFSP goals and report quarterly on child’s progress with IEP/IFSP goals
Ongoing communication with supervisors and multidisciplinary team
Maintain accurate attendance and submit electronic billing daily
Attend professional development trainings to maintain best practice approach and continue personal development
Maintain professionalism with parents, teachers, and other professionals
Attend IEP/IFSP meetings
Perform comprehensive evaluations in clinic, home and/or preschool based settings
Write detailed evaluation reports demonstrating the child’s abilities and areas of difficulties
Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and the evaluation team
Develop appropriate functional goals based upon the needs of the student
Qualification
Required
NYS Students with Disabilities B-Grade 2 Certification
Passionate about working with children and their families
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to collaborate with various professionals
Self-starter and independent problem solver
Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Sterling values, high integrity, empathetic and considerate
Ability to function well in a high-paced and dynamic environment
Flexible thinker with the ability to pivot when necessary
Must be a team-player
Preferred
Minimum of (1) year experience working in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families
