Responsibilities
Reports to the Nurse Manager and is under the supervision of the Anesthesiologist during a case/procedure
Provides anesthesia support services throughout the medical center in conjunction with surgical and interventional procedures requiring anesthesia
The technician functions as a member of the anesthesia and surgical team
Assists in case preparation, induction, extubation, technical and functional support, and between case turnovers of rooms between procedures
Qualification
Required
Familiar with the functioning and requirements of a surgical suite and the processes and requirements of anesthesia care
Demonstrate ability to utilize and maintain a wide variety of health care equipment
Demonstrate skill to respond quickly and efficiently in fast paced environment
Proficient in English. Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High School Diploma/GED
One (1) year training or experience in a technician-related role
Basic Life Support Certification
Knowledge of sterile techniques to provide sterile hands-on assistance
Preferred
Anesthesia Technician Certification
