They are seeking an Administrative Assistant for a temporary assignment at the Cancer Center, responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and supporting office tasks.

Responsibilities

Serves as unit receptionist, directs patients, visitors and others. This includes, but not limited to, heavy telephone intake, patient registration, booking appointments, obtaining client data, typing correspondence, managing phone & foot traffic, scanning documents into EHR

This position participates fully in shared office tasks, including but not limited to: receiving visitors, scheduling appointments, reception duties and filing

Provides back-up coverage for other support staff and assists with coverage for other sites as needed

Communicates to all new clients: clinic processes, expectations, & responsibilities

Provides estimates for services when appropriate

Required

Equivalent to high school diploma

Ability to handle multiple priorities and effective communication

Must be able to multitask and maintain a calm demeanor

Must possess a sound knowledge of business systems and office procedures

Preferred

One-year advanced education and training in the business/secretarial/medical field or equivalent experience a plus

Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus

At least 2 years of office experience, medical office experience preferred. Included in such experience must be typing 40 wpm and handling high volume telephones
