HR Generalist

Responsibilities

Provides guidance, counsel, and problem-solving support to managers, supervisors, teams, and individuals
Manages personnel placement by supporting activities in employee recruitment, hiring, and staffing of plant and office positions including placement of physically restricted employees
Coordinate in the recruiting activities of direct hire team members to support plant and program requirements. This may include advertising, scheduling, interviewing, and assisting if needed with post-offer screening and scheduling orientation. Ensures the process is followed in a timely and effective manner (requisitions, postings internal/external, candidate review, scheduling, reference checks, offer letters, rejection emails, follow-up, etc.)
Conducts interviews covering several areas (Ex. Background, Education, Experience, Job Related Questions, etc.) in a professional manner
Prepare and coordinate activities involving Career/Job Fairs when needed
Coordinate and communicate with the Hiring Manager to ensure timely information is provided to them
Composes new job descriptions, coordinates performance appraisals, and approves salary changes for employees
Utilize social media sites such as Indeed, LinkedIn, etc. to recruit candidates
Coordinate with Corporate Resources as needed for hiring events
Participate and assist with Company sponsored social events
Maintain open channels of communication with all levels of the organization
Manage, support, and provide direction to all staff within the Human Resources department to ensure customer service to all employees and the administration of all Human Resources programs
Coach and guide management regarding performance, discipline, diversity, policies & procedures, and teamwork
Ensure employee confidentiality and data integrity is strictly maintained
Respond to employee issues, concerns, suggestions, and complaints within a timely manner
Provide feedback to managers, supervisors, and employees both positive and negative on an ongoing basis
Provide guidance and support for employee recognition and employee engagement events
Maintains current on employment law updates and communicates changes to those effected by the changes which may include other human resources personnel, management, and supervisors
In conjunction with the Human Resources Manager, assists in the planning of key programs and activities
Prepares and provides key performance indicators as needed for areas of responsibility and as requested by management
Perform other duties as required

Required

Bachelor's Degree, major in Business Administration or Human Resource Management or other related field
3+ years Human Resources experience
Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment

Preferred

SHRM or PHR certification a plus
Automotive experience a plus
Previous Recruiting experience is a plus
