InternSageSure is a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, seeking an Intern to join their Data Science team as part of the Rising Pioneer Program. This internship focuses on Machine Learning Engineering, providing hands-on experience in the ML lifecycle, including data preparation, modeling, and API development with mentorship from senior team members.

Responsibilities
Learn and network with employees, leaders, and other interns during an on-the-job experience
Potential to earn college credit
Research and analysis support on ad-hoc projects
Fulfill tasks set out by team leaders
Receive coaching, mentoring and feedback from knowledgeable SageSure professionals
Assist in data cleaning, transformation, and exploratory analysis to prepare datasets for modeling
Support the development of predictive models and statistical analyses under the guidance of senior team members
Conduct research and proof-of-concept projects on emerging methods, tools, or datasets
Build visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Document code, workflows, and results to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing
Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Data & Analytics
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program with a focus on Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Math, or a related field with an anticipated graduation date in 2026 or 2027
Strong communication skills, problem solving, and reasoning skills
Ability to multitask and hungry to learn
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Authorization to work in the United States
Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of SQL (R optional)
Exposure to machine learning concepts and libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to clearly communicate findings through presentations, dashboards, or written reports
Preferred
Prior internship experience
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Git/GitHub experience and comfort writing docstrings and simple unit tests
AI experience or coursework (e.g., applied AI, machine learning, natural language processing, or workplace analytics tools)
Basic cloud concepts (AWS/GCP) for data/ML workflows
