Responsibilities
Evaluate, design, plan, direct and implement improvements in manufacturing processes and routines
Analyze and plan work force capacity and space utilization, workflow and layout of equipment and work space for maximum efficiency
Confer with Engineering staff concerning product design to ensure efficient production methods for new products
Work with vendors to facilitate the supply of equipment, materials, and parts for day to day operation of existing equipment
Evaluate and review all product routings to establish correct standards and reduce manufacturing variances
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
Three to five years experience in Manufacture-to-order environment
Knowledge of product design, manufacturing methods (assembly, welding, metal machining, and synthetic material machining), fabrication processes, tooling, quality control standards and production equipment capabilities
Proven track record in planning, implementing, and debugging manufacturing processes
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical interference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc
Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Requires light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature and some manual dexterity, minimal lifting, and ability to work in manufacturing environment subject to some noise and fumes
Preferred
Epicore experience or other business system experience is highly desirable
Lean manufacturing experience desirable, along with exposure to production planning implementation
Strong background in mechanical maintenance routines is desirable
