Project Controls Engineer

Eaton is a leading power management company, and they are seeking a Project Controls Engineer to support their Strategic Programs team. The role involves project cost tracking, schedule maintenance, and interfacing with vendors and Eaton plants to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

Interface with other Eaton plants & services for solutions and price negotiation
Interface with external vendors for quotation requests
Review/create order summaries based off purchase order and proposal files to identify order entry requirements
Responsible for equipment order accuracy, Value-Engineer equipment design and equipment schedule for the project
Develop & compile project submittals and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals
Develop WBS/Cost Milestones forecast worksheets for revenue recognition projects Maintain project schedule, cost tracking, and cost estimate with the project management team
Maintain project documentation control and lead lessons learned
Lead Program level Backlog meetings and margin reviews
Generate 3rd party equipment purchase order requisition
Request authorized price levels for order entry in to Bid Manger
Process requests for Bid Manager equipment configuration and order entry
Provide technical assistance after order receipt & interface with Eaton plants and service organizations
File intercompany warranty Requests and manage warranty for orders
Manage an entire project as an assigned Project Managers (based on project size and complexity)
Manage & support System Factory Acceptance Test
Develop & maintain customer SOV (Schedule of Values) and assist in vendor SOV
Manage Eaton plant & factory communication
Create a bill of materials for a project proposal

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 3 years of experience in engineering, sales, project management or field service experience in electrical assemblies, electrical distribution and/or power protection technology OR Associates Degree from an accredited institution and 5 years' experience engineering, sales, project management or field service experience in electrical assemblies, electrical distribution and/or power protection technology

Preferred

Demonstrates proficiency in systems software, such as Vista, Bid Manager, COM, Oracle, QlikView
Project/ Process Management experience/skills
Understanding of Revenue Recognition / Invoicing / cost management
Strong sense of urgency and ability to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in creative problem solving, conflict resolution and managing priorities
Knowledge of Microsoft Projects
