Coordinator of Admissions (RN)

Hudson Valley Hospice is looking for a leader to join their team as an RN Coordinator for Admissions. This role involves the clinical supervision, coordination, and management of the Admissions RNs team, providing clinical support and assisting in daily operational planning.

Responsibilities

Assist in the daily operations, planning, and priority setting to ensure that staffing and accurate reporting mechanisms are established and followed for the effective ongoing service provision of the seven (7) day a week operation. Monitor position control and staffing plans to ensure adequate and competent staff to meet patient care needs and productivity expectations
Provide oversight of Admission RNs. This includes hiring, orientation, mentorship, education, development, performance review, and scheduling
Provide clinical expertise and support to full-time, part-time, and per-dem Admission RNs with daily activities that arise
Completes employee field evaluations that are consistent with job expectation, employee communication and completed within an appropriate period
Make joint visits, when requested, for orientation, preceptor, and mentorship of admission RNs
Review, report, and follow up on patient/family complaints
Works with VP of Patient Access to ensure communication regarding open referrals and coordination of admissions in a timely manner
As required, functions as an Admission RN
Responsible for coaching employees to support positive behavior, effective communication, and interaction with others

Required

Current registration as a registered nurse in New York State. Certified as a Hospice of employment
BS or BSN (currently attending college to obtain a BSN) or commensurate experience, clinically and/or managerially
Minimum of three years of clinical nursing, preferably in oncology, critical care, and/or home care; at least one year of which is medical-surgical nursing
Valid NYS Driver's License

Preferred

Managerial/Leadership experience preferred
