Senior Pipe Stress Engineer

Craig Technologies is an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner involved in modernizing the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad. The Senior Pipe Stress Engineer will perform pipe stress analysis, coordinate with engineering teams, and ensure compliance with industry codes to deliver effective designs.

Responsibilities

Perform pipe stress analysis using AutoPipe
Coordinate with Pipe Support Engineers and Layout personnel as required
Performing pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code
Modeling of the piping systems to verify piping flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads
Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
Participates in reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements
Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions
Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques, and/or difficult coordination requirements
Coordinates plant design engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction, and other functional groups

Required

US Citizenship is Required
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience for Level I
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience for Level II
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment, education, and travel
Working knowledge of dynamic analysis and ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Codes
Prior experience using pipe stress analysis program Bentley AutoPipe

Preferred

EIT certification or PE registration preferred
Previous Craig Technologies And/or DOD/DOE Project Experience Preferred
