Assistant Manager, Implementation Research

The University of Chicago's Chicago Center for HIV Elimination (CCHE) is dedicated to the mission of eliminating new HIV transmission events by 2041. The Assistant Manager of Implementation Research will oversee various research projects, ensuring compliance and providing support to research staff and Principal Investigators.

Responsibilities

Works with the Director of Research, Manager of Implementation Research, and Principal Investigators to implement hospital-based research projects
Leads efforts to execute scopes for various research and quality improvement projects at CCHE, including coordination with community partners and collaborating institutions
Ensures compliance with requirements of funding sources (e.g., submitting program plans, providing progress reports, final reports, etc.) and compliance with human subjects research (support development of IRB protocols and submissions)
Supports the development of research study protocols, quality improvement plans, and standard operating procedures
Facilitates the implementation of research study protocols
Task manages and oversees work of research specialists and research assistants
Applies research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project. With a moderate level of direction, manages lab and/or research-related duties and tasks. Helps develop, design and conduct research projects according to plan
Supports data collection and analytical needs of research projects. Conducts literature reviews and helps write reports and manuscripts. Ensures project compliance with different policies, procedures, directives, and mandates
Performs other related work as needed

Required

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Experience working with populations with limited access to care, such as emergency department patients or those vulnerable to HIV
Experience working on multisite research projects and working with multidisciplinary teams
Demonstrated effective leadership and teaching skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong knowledge of program subject matter
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Ability to manage stressful situations
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, and Word

Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research
Ability to work on multiple projects
Ability to adapt to dynamic clinical environments such as the emergency department and work with flexible schedules
